my gerbil ate its wooden house and the plastic toilet. Is this ok for it? We give her lots of cardboard to chew on to keep her teeth short but i guess it was not good enough

Yeah, gerbils will chew on just about anything. What are you using for bedding in the cages? Try using newspaper. Just lay in a few fresh sheets of newspaper and your little gerbil will LOVE it! lol, And it's so cute to watch them tear it up. He (she? boy or girl?) will shred it and then use it as bedding. Plus, it's a heck of a lot cheaper than buying hamster bedding! (Hamsters need bedding more than gerbils do.)

Cardboard boxes are great, too. Old popcorn boxes, or fruit snacks boxes, stuff like that. Newspaper as bedding and cardboard boxes to chew on will keep his (her?) teeth busy enough that he (she? lol) won't chew up the wooden house and the plastic. Tried and true!

I've had over 30 gerbils in my lifetime and this was the best thing to do with every one of my little babies! They love it, trust me! :)
