From personal experience, or are there any websites that can help me find out more about this area?
My main question evolves around the safety in the area, but anything else would be of a great help!

Thank you!

I checked out www.upmystreet.com, and the site said the area...

"Often, many of the people who live in this sort of postcode will be prosperous young professionals living in flats."

So why would I want to reconsider?

Any other opinions? Thanks!

SE4 is the Brockley area of the London Borough of Lewisham. It is a mostly residential area filled with terraced Victorian town houses. Many of which have been converted into modern flats.

It is one of those areas in London that doesn't have much of a high street. The nearest population centre (i.e. location of the nearest big supermarket etc.) is New Cross, slightly north of there or Lewisham, just east of there. Personally, I'm not much of a fan of New Cross but I do occasionally go to Lewisham to shop.

Brockley station is about a ten minute train ride from the main station at London Bridge. Adelaide Avenue is nearer to Ladywell station which has a similar journey time to London Bridge. The area around there is quite leafy with some open spaces.

There is a lot of snobbery about areas of London. Specifically, people from outer London are often critical of inner London areas, considering them 'ghettos' and people from north London write-off south London as being somehow inferior. Do not be put off by these stereotypes.

I've attached a link to crime statistics for the whole borough.

Not sure as in a different part of SE4 but most places are OK; some are worse. When I was in Brooklyn, it looked ok but twice when we came back from shopping in Manhattan we found police, burn-out cars, etc. I don't think any place is totally safe but you can make yourself and environment as safe as possible. Hope you enjoy the move to SE4 and it all goes well.

Look at www.upmystreet.com for more info. Just type in the post code and you'll get info from house prices to crime rates to transport and the type of households in the area.

That's in the Brockley area and it could be described as many things. Edgy and eclectic come to mind.
