I previously had a lap exam, and I started bleeding a couple of days later. I talked to the doctor and he told me that it was probably my period. If you start to get bad cramps, lay down, and alternate between hot and cold packs, it helps with the cramps.
Many sound strange, but if you have any water bottles, put warm water in one and put water in the other and put it in the freezer or fridge, and alternate. For me, the warm water worked better. Ziploc bags also work well.

I have not had this personally, but I do know a lot of women who have. I remember her bleeding very shortly after that, and it was her period. She had some heavy periods for about three months after that, and then she went back to normal.

I am very sorry that you had an ectopic pregnancy. I know how hard this must be for you.

I'd go to the quack anyway if I were you. And if you're still not happy, see another one. Make the most of the NHS while we still have it. Also, if you are sure something isn't right, make them listen. I had to see 6 midwives, a SHO and a registrar before one listened to me about....I've said too much. Anyway, you get the point. Best of luck.
