Does anyone know anything about Newman, ca.?

I'm moving there in 2 days. I have always lived in the Bay Area & I'm kind of nervous about moving to a small town. Thanks!

Thanks for giving me the web site, but I was hoping someone that lived there or had been there could tell me about what the people were like & what the town was like.

Okay, I grew up 20 minutes from Newman. You'll find your stereotypical small town folk. Everyone knows everyone. Modesto is about a 20 minute drive from it. That's where people go for fun.

Also, from the freeway Newman looks like mostly gas stations and fast food places. You really have to drive into the center to see the town. It's also surrounded by farm land.

Moving from the Bay Area to a small town may be shell shocking. The pace of life is slower and things are quieter, like a one bar town. Hope that helps.
