Don't give me any bs about scientific studies showing people are gay from there genes, because if a scientist says he can determine if a baby is gay in the womb he's absolutely lying, I don't care what your study says. What other causes could there be for homosexuality?

Obviously, I can't speak for every gay person's experience, but as early as I can remember, I knew I was somehow different from other boys, and when I hit puberty at age 13, I realized I was gay. Christianist mullahs like to spout off all sorts of psychobabble quackery about certain dysfunctional family dynamics being the cause of homosexuality, but I was brought up in a traditional heterosexual family with none of those dynamics. I was also never around any homosexuals to the best of my knowledge, i.e., no possibility of the idiotic Christianist claim of "recruitment". So, I can only conclude that it is an innate quality.

It isn't technically "inherited" but it is a proven fact that after a mother has many boy children like at least 4 or 5 and then she has the next one he will be a more "watered down" boy because the mom doesn't have as much testosterone to distribute as she did in the beginning. This allows a higher chance for the boy to be homosexual but doesn't always happen. Most of the time with gay guys it is that way though.

you want proof, yet you don't want to hear proof...that doesn't make much sense....why would you post the question then?
I do not fit into any of the stereotyping, generalizations and assumptions that naive/ignorant bigots like to claim are "causes" for "turning" gay. I was born to straight parents...who were married 29 years until my father died. I don't know of anyone else in my family that's gay. I was never molested/raped or abused. I don't "hate" men, nor was I ever hurt by one. I never dated any men because I have never been attracted to them (although I do have a lot of male friends). I didn't know anyone openly gay until years after I realized that I was (at 18). so, if it's not genetic (yes, I know they haven't discovered the "gene"), how else would you then explain it? I believe we are born predisposed to one orientation or another. I am how God created me, and He loves me just fine, thanks!

Nature and nurture. I think it's a combination of having the proclivity to be queer as well as certain environmental elements that help you to accept it.

Then again, I think EVERYONE is a little bit gay/straight. It just takes the right person and the right situation to bring it out, even if it never happens in their lifetime. Unfortunately, that can't be proved, so you're just getting my opinion there.

I don't believe so. I am gay but as far as I can tell I only have 2 family members who are gay. I was a momma's boy and sexually molested as a child. I think those two things greatly defined who I am today.

I do not know if it is genetic but it is unchangable and it is not a choice so what difference does it make to you. Why does it scare you so much. You can not change the fact that God made you the way he did. so just accept it and come out of the closet live your life and be happy the best way you know how.

You don't want any scientific evidence, you simply want conjecture?
Uh, NO. Sorry, if you can't handle the truth, I'm not going to indulge you by adding to obviously delusional thinking.

I've heard about trends in families but I don't know if there's any scientific proof behind it...
