The Christmas Holiday Period is actually a PUBLIC HOLIDAY and as a non Christian and a member of the public I think I'm entitled to be paid extra if I work at this time.

If you did a survey across the UK to see how many people actually use the Christmas holidays as a Christian festival. You would see that only about 25% sit there wishing Jesus a Happy Birthday. The other 75% eat, get pissed and watch the telly while watching kids opening their presents.
If a non Christian has to work over Christmas then in the UK they will get an incentive for Christmas day, Boxing day and any other public holiday. It's the same for Christians. Everybody should be treated the same no matter what faith they do or do not follow.
Also, most people that claim that they are Christian are only christian when they are on yahoo answers and hiding behind a computer monitor. They can sit there and preach all they like about Christianity but deep in their hearts they are like everybody else when it comes to Christmas time. Like fcuk do they get up on Christmas morning and go to church to do their singing and praying. Nor do they pay any money to the church out of their wages (10%) It's only on here that they preach about virtues and crap like that.
Some of the answers that the people who claim to be Christian give are full of crap and very non christian. Have you wondered why people dislike Christians so much? It's because they spawn so much hate amongst man with their two sided religion.

WTF? Just about every workplace is obliged to pay extra to their employees regardless of religion, race, sex, etc., if they work at Christmas time. There are enough problems in the UK without now suggesting that only Christian workers get extra pay for working during the holidays. What happens if the Christian workers do not wish to work over Christmas or are unable to work? Just because its a Christian holiday are we the only ones who should benefit financially? Would you suggest that Christian workers be paid extra to work during a Muslim, Hindu or Jewish holiday? This is United Kingdom not Kingdom-abad. Everyone should be trying to follow the laws of this country and not make them up as and when a particular faction of society appear to be more militant than the rest.

Yes, of course non-Christian workers should be paid extra for working over the Christmas holiday. Working has nothing to do with celebrating the Christmas holiday or with religion. You may want to see it as them working so that religious people don't have to.

People should get paid market rates for the days they work. If they are public holidays they should get extra pay and legally should get time off instead too. Most people who claim to be Christians are not - and if they are they would realise that Christmas is way less important than Easter and is just a co-opted festival from pagans.

Yes because they work through their own faiths holiday periods without receiving extra money. Everyone should be paid whats due to them at christmas time to make things fair all round.

They should get paid the same as Christian workers. It's the law, no workplace should discriminate one person based on religion, race, creed, sexual orientation etc. If a non Christian got paid more than a Christian because of Christmas time that would be considered discrimination.

Yeah because some non christians celebrate xmas anyway. Most people celebrating xmas are non christian. It's the best time of year, for family and friends. You deserve a little bit extra because you are missing out on that.
