4. a personality that stands out from all the rest

Those are definitely one of the most common thing that describe a popular

To me being "popular" means that you have a lot of friends. It doesn't mean that you have the latest clothes or you are a trendsetter. It means you have a strong charisma that is seen by everybody. That is my opinion on what defines a popular person.

More than likely his popularity--his following. Do people like him? Congregate around him? Want to spend time with him? What makes people like that? Usually they are pretty/handsome, and have a lot to offer in the way of hospitality.

Popular people usually have charisma. It's a sort of outgoingness that draws people to them. They should have a personality that is easy going...to get along with a diversity of people.

It depends on who you are. For goths, they think popularity is wearing black. For people who everyone thinks is popular (cheerleaders, jocks etc.), well they think popularity is being liked by everyone. Most people think that is what popularity is, but its really about what YOU think it is.

someone who knows everybody...you have to knoe about all the parties all the gossip and talk to everybody who is also popular...you don't have to be that rich just be desent looking and at least have style.
