Do you really think that Italy deserved the trophy or do you think that it was sheer luck? Example in the France Italy game Zidane scored a goal early in the game but was thrown out. Was it hard earned or was it luck that helped them win that game and others?

I'm not gonna go into luck or not luck. They didn't deserve it because they were the biggest cheaters and dirtiest players. They put International football back 50 years.

Italy does not deserve to even be placed in the finals.
Italy tied against the U.S....... sad
Italy beats Australia.. by penalty shots......... sad
The Italian players spend their time on the ground than on their feet playing like men......... sad
France beat Spain......... great job!
France beat Brazil!!!.... OMG!! WOOHOO!!
France beat Portugal!!!!!!!!!! OMFG!!! AWESOMENESS!!
France loses to Italy because some Italian player was talking trash about Zidane's sister and mother, and Zidane got a red card.......... I hate Italy (I'm sorry but I just do)
France still continues to play with one less person but Italy couldn't even score a goal..... absolutely sad.....
So as you can see.. France deserved the World Cup victory. I was literally in tears to see this unfair crap on television, seeing the French team, that had a great coach that worked so hard to bring France to victory, beating SPAIN, BRAZIL, AND PORTUGAL. And all that SHATTERS because Italy loves to be dramatic about the fouls and talk trash to their opponents. Italy doesn't deserve absolutely nothing after that game. This was the worst World Cup I have ever seen.
I apologize to all the Italians but you can't blame me. I'm French and Portuguese and to know that Portugal was so CLOSE, and France lost in the Finals, is really something to get angry about.
***EDIT to the wrath guy below me: Hey buddy, BRAZIL hasn't been the host team for quite a while but they are still the best. What I am saying is that being the host team might have more fans out on the stadium but it doesn't guarantee a victory. Brazil has been proving that for the past World Cups (1994, 2002).
France BEAT the NUMBER ONE TEAM, and also beat Spain and Portugal.
Italy beat the only one ACTUAL good team which was Germany.

No, Italy did not deserve the championship because they beat teams like Australia and Ukraine to get to the finals while France beat Spain, Brazil, and Portugal. I also think that if Zidane wasn't sent off, France would have won because this took the life out of their team.

No.They won by pure LUCK!How can a team that drew with USA wen US had only 9 players, a team that won over Australia by an unfair and cheap penalty given by the ref win the world cup 2006??

You bet they did. They eliminated the host team in a pitch the German nationals never lost in 66 years. I cannot believe that first goal scored on an excellent German goalie, a curving one timer...cool.

how is conceding a 7th minute dirt-cheap penalty luck? how is an own-goal in a a1-1 draw against the USA luck? i think your stupid to even suggest it. read Sasan's question, and learn something. the cup was hard-earned, italy had the most solid squad, best defense, mid, keeper, and offense in the tournament

There is one thing you are forgetting though...How Zidane scored his goal. I'll tell ya, if it weren't for Florent Malouda, who knows if it would've even have gone into a shootout.

italy won by luck. If that idiot zidane...nah, its the instant replay's fault...if he played than france would've won for sure. Great end to your career zidane :)
