If the stripes are going the opposite way and the shirt stripes are thick while the suit stripes are thin. The colours don't have to match either. It doesn't look that bad.

What you describe can work if carefully planned. It leans more toward a European look that can look very dapper. I have attached a link to a UK store called Next that is good at pairing thin pin stripe suits with stripe and checkered shirts.

It depends. A pinstripe suit with a top with bold stripes in a different color? ehh, i could see it happening if you added some aamazing shoes or really bold jewelry and accessories. id try to stay away from striped shirts tho.

No, bc you would have a lot of stripes so put on like a pink shirt or a balck shirt with a LITTLE DETAIL with black stripe pants
