probably not e-machines hate new hardware... your best bet is to buy an external hd that plugs in thru usb port

(Geforce 4mx 440 SE is your graphic card) And yes a SATA2 would work but there is 3 types of sata 1.5gb 3.0gb and 6.0gb depends on your motherboard sata connector speed... but normally a 2003 computer would work wit SATA2...
OH and u also need a native sata....
If you don't have native SATA get the pci connector thing

Probably not. You'll need a new motherboard or you can buy an pci add-in card that has a SATA2 connector.

If you don't have native SATA, then you can always add it by getting a SATA pci expansion card.
Also, most hard drive makes still come in both SATA and PATA versions. See if the drive you want comes in an IDE/PATA version.

you will most likely need a bios update to recognize large harddrives unless youve already had a harddrive in the machine over 130G ... and a sata card to plug it into ... im sure you could find a compareably priced ide model ....
