I want to be a chef so badly, but also a teacher when I am older. Which should I chose, because I have no clue. I love food (cooking, mostly....not eating, for some odd reason, unless it is really good food) but I also love kids (of all ages) alot. And I can't be both, so HELP!

Lemongirl:

You got it made! ...you love to cook and teach and from what I'm seeing these days there is opportunity for both. Just see the number of cook shows on the air these days re. Rachel Ray :30 meal and a host of others. I would have to say that you are half way there. Are you with me? You can become a chef and own your own establishment if you like or perhaps teach students privately why not both. So there you go and hay" why not keep the name lemongirl. If you really want to help out kids then make it happen. There is nothing like a successful story lemongirl.

Best to ya!

Go with your heart and think of how long you will want to invest your life for the future on this decision. If you believe in prayer just ask God that what ever his will is may it be done and I will pray for your decision also because it is a big step either way. Look at it this way if you become a chef you could be one day working in
a big fancy restaurant, Or if as a teacher you would be helping
students with building there own future and the rewards of that is
seeing the smiles on their faces when they come back one day
and thank you for what you did for them. May God bless you and Good Luck!

Yes, you can do both. I currently am a substitute teacher, working part-time in mornings and afternoons. I'm also a cook for an Italian restaurant in the evening time. I love both and have lots of fun. If I get tired of one, I can go do the other. It gets me out of the house and I meet lots of people, both young and old. Learn the stuff in the kitchen first and then set out for university to work towards your degree at the same time, one or two classes at first. Then go from there and chose whatever suits YOUR fancy. Good luck!!

I would strongly recommend that you be a teacher, and not just because I'm a teacher myself. You have the main desire... and that's to love kids. Cooking is very enjoyable for me, too. But I want you to carefully consider the time that's involved to be a chef... many late evenings await you as people will want dinner. You'll also work holidays because people won't want to cook on Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, etc. You'll also work the entire year. But as a teacher, and if you decide to have your own children some day as a parent, you'll find the career to be very friendly to families. You'll have your summers off to enjoy with your family. You'll have your evenings for your family, and you'll have dinner with them rather than preparing meals for others. So, my recommendation: Keep cooking as a hobby, but go for teaching as a career.

teaching has better holidays. the rewards are more, but the stress is high too.

chef works can be demanding and run up funny hours. the choice is yours, but chef work can lead to your own kitchen in your own restaurant. teaching can lead on to instructing new teachers, making resources, making books...

teaching has stable salaries that are predictable across the country, while chef work can differ depending on where you work.
difficult decision. good luck which ever way you go.

How about both? You can go to school and become a Chef, later become a teacher in a school for chefs. You would be able to satisfy both your desires.

well a chef must try her own food. if you love kids you also have to love putting up with them and want to teach them what you know. if this help good, if not then i tried my best.

Your grades dont would desire to be the best for you to become what you opt for. in case you opt for to be a veternarian then decide for it. a chum of my mothers dropped out and have been given her degree 4 years after dropping by the wayside. Her GPA on the age of 20 replaced into 2.4 so she replaced into pulling an incredibly low grade conventional now she is a doctor and makes incredibly good money. So in case you opt for to do it dont stress approximately grades in simple terms get slightly help perhaps a coach in situation that are complicated for you. in simple terms shop on with your self and you would be able to do it.
