Go to http://www.ballroomdancers.com/Directory/Default.asp and find a studio near you. I suggest finding a privately owned studio, not a chain like Arthur Murray or Fred Astaire. Lessons are usually better quality at private studios and they have more flexibility in their program.

I take ballroom classes through the square dancing association/ You can look them up on the net. I have been doing this for some time now and the people are down to earth, friendly really nice people and the lessons are
cheap.
Have a great time with your new way of life.

You can check out the Northern Illinois Chapter of USA Dance, which is the national governing body for amateur ballroom dance in the U.S. They can provide information about all kinds of dance events from social to competition to schools and teachers. Their website is
http://www.danceframe.com/
You can also check the main site www.usabda.org for other events around Illinois and the country.

If you have nothing against the big franchises, Fred Astaire and Arthur Murray have studio directories on their websites. Ballroomdancers.com and the local yellow pages work, too.
