I meant Rochester...and I meant how long as in time...why would i care how many miles away it is????

Depending where in Detroit you located. For me its approximately 30 miles

Rochester is about 20 mins from Detroit. I t depends where in Detroit. But 20 mins is about the average drive time.

about an hour/ hour and a half away im from rochester and i travel down there to detroit a lot

If you take I75, then it is a 50 minute trip. Traffic is better once you get out of Rochester, so it's not bad at all.

If you mean how far in time, and you mean Rochester Michigan, it would be about 40 minutes. Partly on the freeway, partly not.
