I'm about to get a DS for Christmas and i wantedd to know what kind of games are good.

If you're interested on building up brains, I suggest Big Brain Academy and Brain Age. If you like action/adventure, opt for Mario Kart DS or Metroid Prime: Hunters. And of course, you could get any Game Boy Advance game, since they are playable on the DS.

depends on what kind of games you like:
Heres my favorite of each genre:
Action RPG:
Castlevania Dawn of sorrow & Portrait of ruin- plenty of abilities, lots of bosses that are challenging, but not frusterating; lots of enemies,these are overally good, wholeesome rpgs.
Non-action RPG's:
Mario & Luigi: Partners in time: Again, a good wholesome rpg, similar to paper mario or seven stars. You can jump in combat, which means if its the enemie's turn and they throw a shell at you, you can press A to jump over it as mario, or B to jump over it as luigi, which is pretty unique.
Strategy: Lost magic, no question.
Racing: Mario Kart DS: No Question, this games got the goods, online play, lots of items, different modes, custom emblems, and tons of races.
Sim:
Cooking mama: This is, yes, a cooking game, but a darned fun one. Its a mix between Warioware gameplay and the theme of cooking! Some of the recipes include "shrimp saute`", "wonton soup", "hard boiled eggs" and more. this is an incredible game, definitly one of my favorites

Either Mario Kart DS!a favorite of mine and fun! Tetris the classic game which has other games besides just letting the pieces go with the black and gray screen. Pokemon DS not the one you battle its the one thats just like Tetris.

If u like football, get Madden 07 or 06, they are pretty good games( i have them) If u like soccer, then get FIFA World Cup 2006(I own it).
If u like racing, then get Mario Kart (i own it)
