Cell phones should be banned in schools. Up until today, students go through school hallways talking on the phone or go through class periods texting their friends while the teacher speaks. Almost every teenager in high school that is in possession of a cell phone brings it to school and turns it on at least once every school day. It is evident that most of these instances are disruptions somehow or other- be it hallway traffic or class interference. Cell phones should be banned in schools because they are a disruption in classrooms, they are an aspect that brings extensive social life into schools, and because they are not used for emergencies (as most parents claim).

If you seperated it into two different paragraphs, you could add a little more to the seconds one about what they help with, and what they do to negatively affect a student in school.

I think Social Interaction should be a closing arguement for you too. Like GG said, it stops them from interacting with peers, and actually talking to their friends, instead of IM.

It is evident that most of these instances are disruptions somehow or other- be it hallway traffic or class interference. ( why is it evident, what has cell phone usage in school done to you to negatively connotate in your arguement)

Also to add a little bit, go to a couple cell phone websites/companies and see what they have to say, that always impresses teachers.

I agree, i actually think it keeps kids from socialising with eachother since they are always texting and spending time on the phones instead of interacting with their peers. Schools are for education, they should NOT allow students to bring their cellphones to school, i know i don't let mine take theirs
