you don't want to abandon him... but if he is on track with his job... and school... sometimes the best thing you can do is be an example... he will eventually figure out that he either has a problem and seek help or will cut back on his own...
if you are his g/f then you might be able to tell him.. I don't like you when you drink all the time... he may see that as a warning in itself...
either way.. if he doesn't see or want to see that there may be a problem... you should def leave... no reason for his issues to drag down the both of you...
Good Luck

Don't leave it alone! Write him a serious letter and explain to him how concerned you are. Guys have a way of blocking us out if we use too many words, so keep it simple. Ask him to go out to a movie with you or the mall window shopping, bowling or some other activity to get away from the routine he's in. Good Luck =)

no!!!!!!!! don't ever leave him. have him realize that he is wasting his life away in drinking. only because his mom drinks doesn't mean he can just waste his life and not care about anything. make him realize it, force him if necessary. tell him of all the things he can accomplish. if he is really smart, he needs to make the smart choice to stop drinking before he gets sick or killed by some disease. stand by him, and don't let him drink, even if you have to use brute force. it is the best for him. good luck!

you cannot get an alcoholic to stop drinking. They have to want to stop on their own. You can voice your concern that they may have a problem but be prepared to lose them as a friend if they dont wanna hear what you have to say...good luck
