It means that there is no middle ground. If you don't firmly believe something you will fall for anything someone tells you.

To everyone that's saying that this quote has anything to do with being a leader, I strongly dissagree.
To me it fairly clearly states that if you have no beleifs of your own, you will blindly fall for the beleifs of the first person to try to sway you. If you have no religious or spiritual beleifs, you will fall into a cult *like christianity...* solely because it is there to be fallen into. You don't need to be a leader to stand for something.
But I kinda dissagree with the message, ecause I stand for nothing, but refuse to fall for anything. Then again, that refusal is standing for something in itself... so I guess the quote holds true.

So, person asking, did I interpret it correctly, or even close? But then again, all things are open to interpretation.

If you do not have any beliefs that you are willing to stand up and make a stand for, then you are someone who must believe in things that are not worth standing for and you will believe anything you hear and this may be something that will take you down.

It is to do with moral strength. If you believe in something then not only do you have the moral strength to be questioning but you have thought on things. There is an old saying. "You fight as you train"
If you are used to thinking about things and have the moral strength to question. And you need moral strenght to question. Then if anything comes you question. You have something to believe in to compare whatever comes along with. If on the other hand you stand for nothing, you don't care. You are careless of yourself. The first step on the road to the gas chambers is called acceptance, the second step is called conformity.

It means you need a strong foundation of morals/beliefs/ethics in a world with constantly shifting relativist ideas of what is right and wrong.

If you turn your back on your values, then any new fad that comes along will be likely to persuade you into doing something you don't believe in.

It simply means if you can not stand on your own, think for yourself, and have something you believe in for yourself, you invariably will follow anything anyone tells you without a second thought wherever they will lead you.

the people who don't have an opinion in life for anything will go with whatever it comes without questioning weather it's good or bad (that's how i see it)

It means, don't be a follower...be a leader. You can't let others tell you what you should believe in. You need to believe in things because it's what you know is right....not always what's popular.
