As I was rolling coins the other day, I found a strange looking dime. The year on it was 1999 and the edge was smooth, instead of a rough one. Another difference was that it the edge was thicker than the coin, so that it looked like it was sunken in, and the mint mark was "p". I would like to know if it is a valuable coin.

I too have coins with smooth edges, it doesn't mean anything. As for the "P" I believe that just means it was made at the Philidelphia mint, and I don't see any significance for the year 1999.
