What kind of qualifications do you think a mentor should have when dealing with children of prisoners?

The only qualifications show be of trust, and care. That is a big responsiblity, and if a person takes on that role that means, I hope, they want to help. Phychology background for sure, to some degree.

Never having gone to prison might be a start. No drugs, smoking, alcohol use. A college degree...or at least BE in college and have a good GPA. Having well-adjusted children of their own might help as well.
