doesn't matter how much it is for
it depends on the location of the bank where it's written from
in your hometown it only takes a few days but if it a long ways away it will take a lot longer

The bank (because of the amount) may place a 10 day hold on it. In reality the check will clear the Federal clearing house and be either appored or bounced with 48 hours as long as the check is written on a US bank

Depending on the bank around 3 days. The amount isn't important. You can pay around $20 for a quick clearance.
