My last period was on November 7th and my periods are always right on schedule. It is not the 13th of december and i took a HPT and it was negative. Could I still be pregnant?

Yes, you could be! An HPT can take up to two weeks past when your period was due to show a positive test result. Also, you could have miscalculated when you ovulated, throwing the days off just enough. I would wait a week and take another test.
Good luck! What a nice holiday present if you are!
Addition: the false information on this site gets to me sometimes. There are very few false positives, but false negatives are extremely common. I have a false negative running around the house right now. Plus, these companies love to say how early you can test, but in truth, every woman is different in when she produces the pregnancy hormone. Wait a week, then take the test.

It is unlikely that you are, because there aren't many false negatives with this test and you are far enough from your expected period date for it to pick up. But let's say you ovulated really late in your cycle and didn't conceive until a week before your period would have been due - Dec 1st. Might miss it. Conventional advice is to wait an additional week (or two), and repeat the test, being sure to use your first morning urine (which is higher in HCG).

Wait another week, take the test first thing in the morning. If it's still neg, and you still think youre pregnant, then get a blood test done. If you don't have insurance, a lot of hospitals will do the blood tests for a minimal charge, or you could go to planned parenthood. But they take a long time for your results.

Maybe the test was defective, or you are so anxious about wanting to be pregnant it has made you late, or any change in weight, diet, medication. I would try another test and then if that was negative, wait another week and go see a dr. to get a blood test

its likely, but there are also chances that you are not, things like stress can delay period. To be sure wait a few days and take another test. And maybe try a different brand?
