Being married for 18 Yrs I should be able to lend a few good ideas here. Of course it depends on your budget, so I'll try and cover the field with like maybe the top three at different $$$ levels.
1). For between $100-$150.00
* A Dozen Roses
* Include a hand written or typed experession of your love
and appreciation for her on some nice stationary.
* Inside the envelope, along with your note, Include a pre paid
gift card to the Day Spa for the treatment of her choice.
2). Around $80.00 Again, nice stationary with your own words, telling her how much you appreciate her and how much she deserves a day out all by herself. Inside the envelope include a "Wife day out pass".
(Which you just made up),That includes goodies like;
Pre paid gift cards for her favorite medium priced Restaurant, Salon for a manicure, and maybe her favorite Lady's shop or movie pass. Get creative, it will be the thought that counts.
3). $50-60 Have a medium bouquet of flowers delivered from your local florist. Don't use the little cards they provide though. Again have them to attach your special stationary, self made note of expressions and let her know that you are bringing home her favorite dinner that evening. After dinner, you sneak in and draw her up a nice hot bubble bath, with scented candles and soft music. Then let her know of your surprise and that you are going to pick up the house and take care of the little one while she relaxes. This will also get you some major brownie points!
A gift alone will never have the same affect as these little things, like telling her how much you appreciate her and the things she does. And then just allowing her to have a day to herself. Trust me, you will see what I mean when she gets home!

Since she just had a baby, I would get her something that would be relaxing for her, like a day at the spa, or a gift certificate at the spa. I don't know how much you want to spend. Something that will make her feel pretty. After her day at the spa, you should take her out to eat or to a movie, of course, it depends on the baby. She can't be away all day from the baby, so maybe a massage for an hour, or a pedicure, or something like that. Maid service for a month to clean the house would help her out while she was caring for the baby. Something to pamper her with.

I'm a sucker for bath and body products. If you can't afford that, their are plenty nonexpensive products that serve the same purpose. Try to make her feel beautiful. I think scented candles are good too. Good Luck and I hope this gives you some ideas.

How about a gift certificate to a local day spa? I am quite sure (as the mother of four!) that a day of pampering and to feel good about herself would be absolutely wonderful.......

I think flowers would be nice,,,
or a neckless that has all 3 of your birthstones in it.
I usually receive mud flaps or vaccum cleaners,,,something more feminine would be nice

Buy her a "family ring" with the birthstones for you, her, and your child. All mothers love these.
