welll it just launch and stuff..and for my science homework i needa kno the answers lol..and so yea. Also the purpose has to be right please dont give me the wrong answer and the time when it gonna land in space..i dont want min...or hr...i would like to see days and weeks..or even months. thankyou very much

They said they want it to land before the New Year (so they can update it's Y2k + 7 software on the ground and not in space)

it's to deliever supplies to the space stations as well as bring a new section weighing 2 tons as well as a new power system (solar panels) to replace the temperary one that is in place

Space Shuttle Discovery, launched on Saturday, Dec 9th, completed a two day catch-up with the international space station, docking with it on Monday Dec 11th. the mission at the ISS is set to last untill the 18th with undocking and the fly-around at that time. Discovery will then de-orbit, and land at Kennedy Space Centre on the 20th or 21st of December all told, spending 11 or 12 days in orbit

They are in orbit right now. They just finished activating the new solar array.
