Well, speaking from experience... I was fighting for it, but became exasperated, and felt like I was the only one of us who was doing any work. I would rather be alone, and know that I didn't waste time working on something that the other person didn't want. You can love a person more than anything else in the world, but if they aren't going to love you back, then it's even more painful than sticking around. I walked away, and have never heard from the guy again. I thought he loved me too. He always told me so.. but... actions speak louder than words, and he hasn't done either. It haunts me every day.. still!

Love and fight is more exciting, but love and set free is the hardest. The saying goes, A"if you love something set it free, if it comes back to you its your, if it doesn't, it never was.

love and set free is the best way to handle it, as when we have to fight for something, we may be figting for someone who doesn't want us anyway.if someone wants free and we try to persuade them, and fight the other person for what we think is ours, we may loose anyway. if someone really wants us they will come back, they will find a way. can't fight something that isn't meant to be anyway. maybe we might love someone, but if the other person doesn't love us, we are fighting a losing battle. which will hurt our self worth much more than if we just set it free, i would fight if i knew the other person loved me, and wanted to be with me, but if not than i would feel i was beating a dead horse. it is never good for us, or our self worth to fight for someone who wants to be with someone else.

both, depending... sometimes "fighting for it" can be mistaken for overbearing and nagging. on the other hand "setting free" can make one think it really is over. so... they continue down the path with the other person thinking they will never be forgiven by you anyways. i say a little of both in heathly doses would have the best results... no matter how it turns out.... you would have still tried, but not at the expense of your dignity, and self worth.

They are both correct. It depends on the situation. If you can fight and win, then go ahead and fight. If you cannot change the situation, then set free.
