I suggest that you use spell check before you send out your questions.

People who ask questions do know how to use the spell check feature. It's not that hard to use, and it's just a little button that you click that checks your spelling for you. Mostly everyone knows how to use it and what it's used for. So that's about 50% of humans know how to while 25% of humans send in questions.

I have thought as you do. It is not hard to use the feature. However, when a person is not a native English speaker, I am willing to be gracious. Some of the alternatives that the spell checker gives may be unknown to the foreigner.
But you are correct. We should have better spelling. the under 20s are the "IM style" spellers I think.
Stick to your guns and we will do well.

I was as pedantic as you with spelling issues, then found the "spell-check" feature to be partial to American spelling - ie, dropping all my hard learned "u's". I've since recovered from my initial shock and am well on the way to being pissed off with the lack of grammatical correctness!!!

Do you know how often that thing is broken? Many people are just making typos and they type fast for a response and then don't proof it. And I can tell you, the number of people who do not proof their stuff is amazing - proven by how many menus and books have mistakes on them. If profressionals are making these types of mistakes, what makes you think that the average Joe would not?

Because people are too lazy to take the time to check their spelling, or even click the automatic spell-check button.

I use it if it's working and doesn't take all day just spinning and spinning around. It also gives some pretty inappropriate words when used and none that you were looking for.
