I work on my feet in a somewhat stressful environment, and I wear dark eyeshadow. I need it to last all day.... 12 to 16 hours. Even if I were to wipe it off and reapply it, after awhile my face gets sweaty and greasy and it's impossible to keep my eyeshadow from settling into the crease of my eyelid. I've tried applying it wet, etc., and nothing works. Is there something I can buy to apply before the shadow or whatever that's relatively inexpensive and will guarantee that my eyeshadow will stay in its place?

Oh, yeah, sorry, I forgot to mention that I've tried foundation AND powder on my lids. It didn't work. :(

I have the same problem, and it kept me from wearing eyeshadow for years...now I use a shadow primer called MK Signature Eye Primer and it works really well for me. I just smudge it on my lids, let it set a little, and apply my shadow. I know lots of other brands make similar products but since I haven't tried any others, I'm not sure how well they work. But the good news about Mary Kay stuff is that it's all guaranteed, so if you don't like it, you can just give it back to your Mary Kay lady and she'll give you a refund. Anyways, you can learn more about it here: http://www.marykay.com/k10sims/color/eyes/10794200/10794200/default.aspx
Hope that helps!

Yes there is something called f.y.eye by benefit and it's basically an eyeshadow primer. Sometimes I wear dark eyeshadow for special events and I always put this on first. The longest I've had it on for was 12 hours and the eyeshadow stayed the entire time.

try chapstick. It is cheap and it works for me. Just a small amount on the tip of your finger then rub onto the eyelid. It helps the color stay in place and not crease plus it keeps your eyelids moist in dry climate like winter time.

Mine used to do that until I found out about and started using eyeshadow base. Clinique makes a really great one.

you need to use an eye primer under your eye shadow. Bobbi Brown and Trish McEvoy both make one.

Before applying your makeup, you can use the spray that calms and soothes the skin, blots away excess oil, and evens out skin redness. It improves the lay down and application of foundation or powder. http://www.maccosmetics.com/templates/products/sp.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CATEGORY18355&PRODUCT_ID=PROD7953
Then you can use an eye primer that smoothes textures and neutralizes lid colour.
http://www.maccosmetics.com/templates/products/sp.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CATEGORY18354&PRODUCT_ID=PROD7955
You can then use a crème color base so it makes your eye shadow last longer.

Then continue with your normal routine.
Or you can try this:

Hope that helps.
