I mean the smell was so overbearing, and no one had any clue as to where it had come from..so my question is has anyone else ever experienced what I have?

No and if I did I sure wolldn't stay there to eat , you know you have the right to ask the manager to inspect the kitchen. did you report it to management? Or was it yourself that you was smelling?

OMG....LOL! Yes! I was @ this restaurant in Fremont and this smell was just horrible. I mean it literally smelled like a rotten egg!! I aksed the waiter what the hell is it that I'm smelling. Turns out that their pipes in the bathroom was backed up. It was so awful, I couldn't even enjoy my food. Close the restaurant down dagnament.

No, all the upper scale eateries I have been in smelled deliciously of wonderful food.

yes especially in an ethnic restaurant wherein they use some heavy smelling herbs and spices, or maybe the waiter or one of your party pass some wind(saying it mildly)

YES!! It actually happened to me. I mentioned it to the waiter. He pointed to an individual at an adjoining table, and said, "It's him... his name is Teppes."
