not to call Carmen out but it's reason's just like that. Black hair grows the same speed as other types of hair, it is based on genetics. In fact, it can be argued that black hair grows longer because it is tightly curled, so when straightened expresses longer length. it's just also fragile so prone to breakage. And add petroleum, mineral oil and other such things (which are found in just about every hair product marketed towards blacks) and you have a problem.
It's a lack of information, perpetuated by people who make money off of telling us our hair is bad (and giving us products to keep it bad) then trying to sell up products to make it "good"
My hair is kinky, and long. when i was growing up, it was nappy. now? it must be long because i have "good" hair. It drives me nuts. And I've heard the weave thing often. I'm like- they don't make weave in nappy, to my knowledge.

East Africans have a long hair, and they are Blacks. Not all Black people wears a weave. It is all natural, as real as their booty is.

True.
But since our hair is different and does not grow as fast as our white counterparts' hair because of lack of oil production, then most people just assume that it is a weave.

Most non-Blacks do not realize the diversity in the genetic make-up of Black people. Because of this, they generalize and believe that all Black people must have the same type, length, and texture of hair--just like they believe most Blacks look alike, act alike, sound alike, are of the same religious, socio-economic, and intellectual levels. In other words, it is pure ignorance.

no it depends on how dominate their Caucasian genes are. ****** dont have round hair follicles but oval shape which gives their hair the upright position and wave. However as the about of Caucasian genes that make their hair casian like and the genes that make their skin lighter are not related so you can get dark looking ***** with Caucasian hair. It should be noted that unless a ***** comes from Africa that they are in fact only part black and will have different Caucasian trait in their genetic makeup
