I'd be home the second my kid was born. I'm just old fashioned, but my career isn't all that important to me. I like being home, cooking and running the house, making cookies. I can't imagine busting my butt for someone else when I could be home playing with the kids, taking them to the park, doing the PTA/scout leader thing. I was probably born in the wrong century.

I would rather be home raising kids. However, my kids are grown and I had to work to support them after their dad took off. I have a great job, but I never wanted to be a career woman-just a good mom to my kids and a good wife to my husband.

Well I love my children a lot, but I really can't wait for the day when I can go back to work!
Still, I think it is best for me to be home now. I work part time, but I really don't enjoy my work. So that might have a lot to do with it. If I didn't have financial reasons, I might not want to work at this time. However, when my children are all in school, then yes, I do want to work.

Neither... I would be happy to just work my regular job, with my husband making enough for us to splurge for daycare. I'm not a "career" woman (even though I have a pretty good job that I enjoy), but I think it would be miserable to have to spend ALL my time at home with kids. I like variety.
