Are you kidding.. thats like the perfect time.. sure she'll be behind the other girls her age by a lil bit.. but because she is older she'll catch on quicker... she'll be fine..
I teach dance... I think hip hop would be a good place to start her. In classes like that they aren't as concerned with technique-- so she'll be able to get used to dance faster.. then she can move to harder classes.. like jazz, ballet, tap, lyrical, or acro.

A lot of studios have a "teen" hip hop or jazz option, for older girls who are just starting, but who don't want to be stuck in a beginning class with 8 year olds. These classes are usually based more on fun and exercise rather than technique, since they are getting a relatively late start, but it is never TOO late to learn to dance. I teach such a class and the students have a great time!

in case you've already tried a lil of jazz attempt out for hip hop, this is not any longer about it is way less stressful yet which matches best for your Taist and how you sense more desirable ideal at expressing your self. i'm 17 and that i under no circumstances took dance classes yet i appreciate music a lot that i have realized from video clips/streets/and so on. Be constructive and do your best! And some thing can get easyer to study in case you get inspired and prefer doing it :) reliable success! Be the finest you may be ;D yeah!!

Its not to late to learn those styles of dancing. Hip hop is actualy better to learn when you're older. Jazz is really fun!

The reason that kids are "too old" to start dancing is because they need certain hours of practice to be really good at it, and a kid dances for years accumulating experience, but if your sis really wants to start and is constant in her practice, she can get to be a good dancer in some years.
