A physical map generally shows what's physically there. So you'll see mountains, rivers, and perhaps other features of the landscape such as terrain, animals, temperatures, or whatever the mapmaker wants to emphasize. Physical maps often LOOK like whatever they're depicting, so mountains look bumpy and oceans look deep.
A political map generally shows human regional relationships. So you'll probably have political zones such as countries, states, counties, or whatever, along with cities, roads, and likewise whatever else the mapmaker wants to emphasize. Political maps usually look completely two-dimensional, as if they were just describing a surface instead of a three-dimensional region.
Usually the two are very different kinds of map, though even at their most different there is SOME overlap because some political borders follow the routes of rivers or mountains, and some natural features are altered by the people who live near them. Some maps show some features of both, too, so you'll see major features from each kind of map.

Physical map shows physical geography and names them. And usually incorporates topography as well.
Political maps have the opposite they have cites, countries, and other things named, and few geographic structures.
