tan(60) = 1.732050808

tan 60 = square root of 3 because tan = sin/cos and sine 60= square root of 3 over two, and cosine 60=1/2 so the twos cancel and you are left with square root of 3.

60 degrees.. That would be... (pi)/3 Radians.

So that would be...

(sqrt(2)/3)/(1/3)

And that would be...

3*sqrt(2)/3

And the 3's cancel out, so that it would just be:

SquareRoot of 2

-----------------

The one above me is wrong.

He either has his values of (pi)/3 as (sqrt(2)/3,1/3) or his tan is adj/opp. Which are both wrong.

(pi)/3's unit circle values are 1/3, sqrt(2)/3

and tan = y/x

thus: (sqrt(2)/3)/(1/3)
