Think about his Voodoo economics big big problem and a Joan Quigley based decision.
The savings and loan bankrupcy
Iran Contra, Bush North Gates CIA arms deal.
The end of Communism was not just Rayguns doing. It started in 1974 with Auto makers buying Polish steel and support Lec Walenska and the solidarity movement. Money ended the Cold War.
I liked Raygun the Union Leader and the Govornor But President no he was already suffering from Alzhiemer's and every Washington DC Vulture could smell the death

The Iran issue was already finalized befor the election. We know now that the CIA stalled the release until after the election was over. Niether Jimmy or Ronald freed the hostiages US deplomacy did it.

I can not fathom why they think he was a good President. I was alive then but a kid, so I dont have my memories of him to go but just what I read and anything I read just seems awful. I mean he did so many things wrong.
For the people who say he freed the hostages from Iran, that is ridiculous, Carter was working on that release the whole time and they released them when they did to manipulate the American people and sadly they fell for it.
He wrecked the economy, sure he cut taxes it was great, but then Bush had to raise taxes to make up for it destroying his chances for a second term.
I just really dont understand why people put party loyalty and a person "likability" above facts.

Yeah, I got a kick out of that too -- especially the guy who put Reagan in his top 5 because "he was a good diplomat." Ha! Made me laugh out loud.
In addition to the things you already listed, he also ran up the biggest national debt in history...that is, until W came along and beat his abysmal record.
Both of them leave paying off that huge foreign-financed debt to Democrats. Weenies.

I don't think Joan Quigley ever played soccer.
And as for track record, well, he accomplished what he set out to do, and that's about as much as any president can hope for.

He had the collapse of the wall for one thing...and was smart enough to start the STI . He got the economy going again and got us jobs-a-happening . No pres since,and no pres in the foreseable future has got the nads. .....And it was Ken Taylor (a Canuck)that got the hostiges back from Iran....How soon we forget.......Thanx Ken

His speaches. The best. "If you counted on America to be passive, you counted wrong". His voice was also cool. I would like to think that he had charisma as Clinton did....unlike GW bush. "A message to terrorists everywhere...you can run but you can't hide". Love it.

Well he had to fix all of Carter's snafu's He rebuilt the military, turned the economy around for the better, won the cold war, and brought pride back to America. Just to name a few....

First and for most he was republican, he cut social programs and built up the military, and besides he was a great actor.
