We'll probably doom ourselves off before that planet killing asteroid hits us, before the consequences of global warming are in full swing, before the super volcanoes erupts and surely before our sun supernovas.

The detonation of tens of thousands of nuclear weapons that now sit quietly, inconspicuously, in missile silos, submarines and long-range bombers, faithful servants awaiting orders would bring the end of the human species.

The World Health Organization concludes that 1.1 billion people would be killed outright in such a nuclear war, mainly in the US, Russia, Europe, China and Japan. An additional 1.1 billion people would suffer serious injurles and radiation sickness. This would represent by far the greatest disaster in the history of the human species and, with no other adverse effects, would probably be enough to reduce at least the Northern Hemisphere to a state of prolonged agony and barbarism.

The nuclear winter that Carl Sagan spoke about would eventually spread to the Southern Hemisphere, killing all plant and animal life, and eventually mankind.

Are nukes good, the MAD doctrine kept us out of a nuclear war for 60 years, but now with rogue states and rogue leaders, the fallacy of the MAD doctrine is apparent. The weapons of peace for the last 60 years have now been turned to weapons of war. Once again we are staring into the black abyss of a nuclear holocaust.

When the sun runs out of Hydrogen about 4 or 5 billion years from now, it will switch to Helium fusion. This will cause the radiative pressure to exceed the gravitational pressure, and the sun will expand to a much larger size until equilibrium between the radiative pressure and gravitational pressure is reached again.

This will be the sun's "Red Giant" phase. It will expand enough to engulf the Earth and perhaps Mars, but no further. When the Earth is engulfed, it will vaporize.

That is what the end of the world will be like, 4 to 5 billion years from now. Of course, we won't be around to see it. By that time we'll either be extinct for some reason (perhaps by our own hand) or will have evolved into a different species. Either way, human beings will not be present when the "world ends".

The actual world can only end by being consumed by the sun, which is estimated to be a few billion years from now. By then all life will have been destroyed by a combination of events that will make the earth uninhabitable, and no-one will be around to see the planet earth's demise.
Conceivably we could have a colony in a nearby galaxy by then, and learn of the earth's destruction a few light years later, however.

I hope it's something really cataclysmic...like the earth slowly splitting two while volcanoes erupt at the same time, with 1000' tidal waves and off-the-scale earthquakes caused by a giant meteor smashing into the ozone layer...and if the Four Horsemen just happen to show up, well, so much the better.

The world never ends!
While all living entities will dissappear from this planet, they,as spirit souls and immortal, will migrate to other planets(higher or lower)while natural catastrophes will render this planet inhabitable for quite some time:billions of years!(it's just a moment in eternity!)
Planets in this material world have always known a cycle of creations- maintainance and destruction....That's why there are still the remains of last civilisations, going back to millions of years....

Living entities are put in such places, because we have rebelled in the spiritual world,of perfect harmony, and so have to be reformed, make experiences, and learn through them, till we accept to comply with God's law of love,in the spiritual abodes.

"Some say the world will end in fire
some say in ice
from what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire
But if it had to perish twice
To know that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice"
-Rober Frost, Fire and Ice

The world isn't going to end until the sun blows up and destroys it. Just because the humans have been wiped out doesn't mean the planet is done.

We won't be here to see it. By the time the world ends people will have left the planet. Unless a big azz comet or asteroid destroys the Earth entirely before we advance.

I know that this isn't a spiritual question but the bible says that the end of the world will be light for 5 days non stop and Jesus will desend from the heavens and when he goes back up, it will be time for final judgment.

I believe that there will someday be a massive migration to the planet Mars when this planet is gone. There will be no sun but technology will be so advanced that new types of heaters ones that can change the entire temp of planets will be made

we are killing the world each day a bit more.
I dont know if the world will end suddenly, but i'm sure that if we follow doing as till now our grandchildren wont have any world.
Nowadays money is the king, and we do anything to get more and more......without realize that money without a world is a nonsense..
Why to get more money if the forests are being cut........the ozone cape is each day bigger......if the water in the world is each day less......if pple die bcoz of hungry.......if the powerful nations spend money in weapons instead of in food......if we cant live in peace...........if we dont respect other pple bcoz have different religion or culture??
May be that is the way that world is ending.............just now.
