and we were wondering how did companies operate before computers and technology?
For example how did banks operate and access your account at a branch other than your own? and in nostalgia police shows, the police had no radio on then, how did the signal for help? and how were vaccnines created with the use of medical technology?
it all seems quite so amazing the world we live in today!!!!

yeah what would we do without computers, god, the world would grind to an halt!!!
(thankfully our uni is spread over 4 campuses and has never lost power - then again they have thier own power generator or summit like that - well the hall where i was living do anyway)

Police used telephones before they had radio.

Before phones the police attracted help with a metal whistle blown loudly.

Before banks could electronically transfer cash you had to carry with you a withdrawal book to remove funds from your account - these had all the details of your account.

One thing to remmeber is that there have always been technological miracles. No matter how amazing the things we have today the future will probably hold more. But great things can be achieved through endevour alone. When the pyramids were built the people back then would have used new and wonderful methods to make them. Every age is the age of wonders to those who lived in it - including the age we live in today.

I know, at uni the other day there was a power cut, so no lights, no computers, no tv, no nothing, it was weird!!
Everyone was so bored, cause there was nothing to do, well there was but it just seemed like no one wanted to do anything that didnt involve using the electricity.
Just shows how much we rely on technology! :D

Im thinking before the basic computers were about you couldnt access info about your account from another bank, unless the phone was used, but thats still technology.

makes you wonder what we would do if we lost technology now doesnt it?!

computers were brought in to do things faster, like when you put a check in it only takes 7 days now for the check to clear. not like when it was done the old way , when it was done by workers ,

they used to slow the system up they used to do it in three day . so you can see why the banks got computers . cheaper that a workers and they hold on to you money longer, I can not see why and how it takes so long. when i go and buy some thing on a card . if i have no money in my account they know straight away

yes it is surprising how we managed to live without ATM's, POLICE RADIO'S, MICROWAVES, that seventies show, mobile phones, and of course the internet. what would we do without all that porn ?
