I need to be able to open them somehow so i can transfer some content onto less prehistoric media.I am currently running Windows XP

Do you presently have MS Works? Some documents might be translated by Office programs, but I'd be cautious doing it, for fear of losing your originals. If the floppy is even read by your CD-ROM, I'd copy the files from the floppy before trying to do anything with them. Good luck!

they may be degraded beyond using if theyre that old http://www.quetek.com/prod02.htm try this recovery software to see if you can get anything from them

open my computer then left right click three and a half floppe and the freformat.
