I was told that DVD that are not done in the same area you live would not play in another area. I copied some of my video-cassette tapes on DVD and would like to send it to a friend for New-Year because this was taken years ago and she is on it. I know the disk has to be closed and protected in some way. I'm new at this. Thank you for the info

if you bought the dvd in the same country as to where it is being sent then yes it will play.
