Your pride and ego will always get in the way if you are not strong enough. Apologizing and really recognizing that you are not right or have done something and realized it was wrong is so hard. But it takes a person with a good heart to admit his own mistakes and know better the next time.

An apology carves away some of that ego. To admit being wrong cuts into a big ego.

Ego is your sparing partner. You have the ability to reason and when you are by yourself, you create a fictitious picture of the person you believe yourself to be. This is how you are able to reason things out by yourself.
However, the trouble starts because intrinsically we are all perfect, but the picture we hold onto is not. When we are found to be wrong, we don’t like to think the picture is, so rather than see that the picture as faulty we try to cover it up.
Intelligence is the ability to learn from our mistakes – ignorance, is letting it happen twice!
All you have to do is let go of the picture.

Hello,
No! I wouldnt say it gets in the way of saying sorry or admitting you were in the wrong. But the ego "definately would" feel somewhat deflated or brough down though. I'm sure!!

No, because I'm a human being, therefore not always right. The trouble is, we all think we are right!
I'm only embarrassed to admit I'm wrong when I have been adamant that yes, this is definitely right - only to be proved that I really don't know everything at all! I was lucky enough to see that, and nowadays I'm more careful to say look, I'm pretty sure it's this, or that. It covers me if I'm wrong!

ego gets in the way if you are weak and have little or no confidence in yourself. A strong confident person is not afraid to admit when they are wrong.

Certainly not, if I need to say sorry, then I do and if I am proved wrong ,over anything, then I don't have a problem admitting I was wrong !!!

I think you mean selfish pride... feeling silly about having to admit you made a mistake. It wouldnt get in the way if you say your sorry, it could get in the way before you say it....then you're branded a coward.

No. If I say I'm sorry, I feel sorry. Maybe that's ego. What do you think?
