The real fact is in 1981 Congress made it a felony to commit fraud involving a social security number. Selling your number is identified as fraud by the SSA.

PRESIDENT Bush was not in office when that happened but even if he had been, congress makes laws not the president.
Maybe another civics class would help.

It's funny that every time something happens that people don't agree with, they point fingers at the president. I don't think President Bush stepped into office on his first day and said "it should be legal to sell your social security card to whomever you want". I think he's got bigger things to worry about than that. To be honest with you, it's not legal. If your referring to those raids that happened yesterday, that was all done illegally, that's why the FEDS and ICE are cracking down on it.

Stealing (or giving) ones SScard/identity card is a crime and has nothing to do with Bush.
