Cutting off funding will mean that Bush will be forced to bring back the troops home reflecting the people's wishes expressed in November since he will not have the extra money to continue the fight. It doesn't mean that the troops will be left there without any ammunition.

Yes. This is the quickest way to end this debacle. Heck, one of Iraq's leaders our whipping boy "Saddam" Allawi is calling for Martial Law! Hello!? That does not equal democracy. We are not wanted there and we shouldn't even have went in there. it is too late to turn back time but at least we can make the future better. All this talk that it is going to hurt the troops is garbage. What is hurting the troops is being in Iraq ofr no reason. What is hurting the troops is putting them in harms way with no sign of an exit. What is hurting the troops is not giving them armor to protect themselves enemy fire. What is hurting the troops is people whining online that a question is hurting the troops when they are not even over there fighting for thier beliefs. Believe me, there are vacancies availible. On Tuesday alone, 450 people were killed. this is a disaster. We need to leave now. All military and corporate interests need to leave now.

NO. Seriously cut of funding? It is impossible to do anyway because Congress already pretty much gave Bush a blank check to spend on the war. Good idea have Bush rush to make a decision, and not let his new secretary of defense analyze the situation and provide his input. Think before you speak

First, I think you're under some illusion that Bush has the power to pace the war through funding or otherwise. This war wasn't created by Bush, and can't be won by him. To accept the Baker, Hamilton Commission's assertion to pull out without first seeking Victory would be the only sure plan for failure. Why is it you bone heads aren't calling for withdrawal from Germany, Japan, S. Korea, and so on following WWII, and the Korean conflicts? I'll tell you why, because you have the attention span of a gnat on crack.

Spoken like a true anti-American. The President is still the Commander In Chief with veto power. He will not be pushed around by dried up has beens with their cut and run surrender ideas. This president is committed to victory not defeat. I expect the liberal left will be enflamed when he announces his policy next year.

Cutting off funding would only hurt the soliders there. It's bad enough they went in underfunded already. These are our men and women who would get hurt. Not even an option!

How do you know he "doesn't care"? Do you have some personal knowledge, or are you just spewing leftist talking points? I could tell you a true story about how caring he is - some very close friends of mine lost their oldest son in Iraq - but I can see it would be a total waste of time.

No, that is NOT what he's saying.
What he IS saying is that there is no quick fix to the problems facing us in Iraq.
AND if we pull out immediately, any hopes of a diplomatic relationship with Iraq will be GONE.
