That's what's so wonderful about "The Land of The Free" - politicians are free to do or say anything they like - just so long as their public opinions stay to the right of Attilla the Hun...!

Absolutely not.
American pols are waaay too polite to speak truth to power.
Just look at the uproar over Jim Webb's perfectly polite and appropriate comment to Bush.
