We, of course, did not "win" in Vietnam. We lost 58,000 American troops and the final result was that North Vietnam conquered the South. I get a lot of mail at the newspaper informing me that the press actually lost the war in Vietnam -- those 58,000 dead don't seem to count to these readers--and that we would one day have prevailed had we stayed.

WW1 lead to, WW2, lead to ww3 yes the third world war, happened it was called the cold war, and Korea, Vietnam, and Afghanistan, were where it was fought. The united states won the cold war or ww3 Vietnam was one of its battles. you don't judge who wins a war by its battles you judge by who wins in the long run.
WW4 is the war we are engaged in currently and it is the direct result of the actions and moral compromises taken in WW3
So you don't like my answer because I disagree with you but that is the truth.

I won in Vietnam by safely returning home in 1972 with all my arms and legs.
Landing at the SanFran airport was an experience in itself, however.

because during that time the goverment was nazi fags. the goverment still needs some adjusting. a revolution is due. we were afraid of the truth and didnt want to admit that we lost. we were tight asses. the goverment was to worried about the up-coming of love, peace, and truth here at the home front then the men dying over seas. they didnt have there priorities straight. the goverment and president johnson were to scared of people like timothy leary. america the so called "free" country didnt have there minds straight, eyes clear, and doors of perception open. we were bling. thank god for nixon. PEACE!!!!! VIVA LA REVOLUTION!!!!!

I am an American that thinks we lost Vietnam.
The reason that people don't accept is because they let pride get in the way of a reasonable decision. Yes we lost...we need to get over it and move on.

for various reasons;
1. americans are pathetically patriotic to the extent they will never accuse their government of wrong doing.
2. they have a biased media which is nothing more than a zionist propoganda machine, which means when it comes to current and past affairs americans live in the dark.
3. americans have the poorest education system in the developed western world which means they have difficulty grasping academic subjects like history.
4. the vietnam war was a proxy cold war, and they would never admit to losing against communists, especially as americans were banned from having or believing in left wing political ideologies.
5. the entire world know that the vietcong won the war so it doesnt matter how americans attempt to re write history.
6. a tactical withdrawl is called losing in a differant term, america was financially crippled during the vietnam war, and they lost against all vietcong offensives. america lost the war and they had to pack up and f** off.

I think it is what the military call a "tactical withdrawal". Anyway, didn't Rambo go back and sort it all out for you?
Oo, oo, I've just thought of a question.

If we face the fact that we lost there, then we will have to face the fact that we are losing in Iraq as well.
