Lowmans dept store is a great place to start. You also have Lord & Taylor. They have a dedicated dress area. Everything from moderate to expensive dresses. Plus, when they have a sale. You can really get a lot for your money. You also have burlington Coat factory. They have a nice womans clothing area. Last but not least you have Neiman Marcus' "Last Call". That is there outlet store. You can get some "real" designer dresses for a good deal too. It's all trial and error. Take your time. Once you do find a dress. Take it to your neighborhood tailor and get it altered to fit your body. Even at the dry cleaner, they have somoeone that can alter your dress. There is nothing worse, than a dress that doesn't fit properly. Real style is wearing clothes that really fit. No matter how much it costs.

when my sister went to get her wedding dress, i saw some beautiful dresses that might work.@ David's Bridal, in Charlotte. or u could try a mall that sells dresses for special occasions. Carolina Mall or Concord Mills might work.
