u dont do it 1 color at a time. there r new n better ways to do it, but i learned the "layer" method. i could do it in under a minute, but for really fast times u need to learn an updated method.

the first thing u want to do is 1 color. the middle (or center) pieces never change position, theyre always the same in relation to each other. no 2 pieces r the same n they must go in their spot.

pick a color to do first. lets say u picked orange. 1st do the 4 side, or "edge" pieces, making a cross. remember, the orange n blue piece must line up so that not only is orange w the center orange piece , but the blue side must be next to the blue center piece. same goes for the other 3 (green, yellow, n white).

next do the outside, or "corner" pieces. when u locate a corner piece w orange. look at the other 2 colors. lets say u found the 1 w blue n green. when u put it into place so that orange is next to your center orange piece, u must also make sure that its on the corner that puts the blue side next to the blue center piece, n then of course the green will be next to green. then do the same for the other 3.

once u can do this fairly easily, u will have the basic understanding of how the cube is layed out n how to move the pieces around. its at this point that learning the rest will be far more easy.

Its impossble for me. but there is a patteren you can follow. ittook my friend 9 hours to complete her rubics cube. if you have one that can come apart, then take it apart and rebulid it the correct way. thats how I do it. I am such a cheat.

Work one color at a time. Solve red first (or whatever color you need to) and it'll eventually work out. However, many of my friends find this method hard and repetitive, so in their opinion, just play around with it.
