Would they like it? Hate it? Why?

They would probably be confused. The language has changed dramatically. People waste money now so flagrantly. Morality would be non-existent to them-even if they were not Christian. Air conditioning and running water, and hot water would blow their minds. The general laziness of society would shock them. The fact that many adults today are irresponsible and anti-American would be difficult for them to understand. TV, radio and movies they would not be able to believe. It would be major culture shock.

I'm not sure whether they would like 2006, but I believe you could bet your sweet bippy that they would be amazed.

When you consider that everything all around the world except for very few places has changed. No doubt the very room that you are in has no less than 15 or 20 items that someone from 1906 could see and would have absolutely no idea what those items were.

It is hard for us today to comprehend the fact that barely 50 years ago, telephone service consisted of a heavy black instrument with a dial on it, and the way You got dial time was to pull a button up. Then you dialed the number on a rotary dial. There were no push button telephones yet. And you most likely shared the line with five or possibly six other people. It was called a party line. You got to use the phone when your turn came. That is the way it was. There was no argument about it because there was no other option.

Television in 1956, was still basically in its infancy, and the number of television channels were limited. In my neck of the woods, we had one television channel. And you had to make sure that television antenna was pointed in the right direction. Then we got another television station that was in the opposite direction, so if you want to watch it you had to turn the antenna in the appropriate direction . Yes, it was a pain in the butt to do that, now looking back. But you have to remember, at the time, that was how it was done.

Would a 1906er hate our world? I really don't know. I would think they would certainly be fascinated with our life style, but there's a better than even chance they might just as soon be back in their own time. While it would certainly serve as a fascination for them, they would be too out of place & time.

Would depend on the person but any of them would be stunned to say the least. My husband told me his grandparents thought the neighbors could spy on them through the cable tv...Many people were (and some probably still are) very paranoid about the computer /internet.
As for me, I think we still in primitive times! We won't advance much until people's hearts change...when violence is passe. Unfortunately, it seems even more popular today with the gangsta culture. I was part of the hippies' of the 60s when peace and love were considered "radical." Unfortunately even today they still are with our youngsters wanting this violent gansta culture. Funny thing is I am realizing my dream to become a doctor and here in med school are some of the "gangsta." So how do you feel about a gangsta doctor? Maybe they'll do a drive by on you if you get them mad.
