It is your baby so you name it what you want. I am sure that their are other little girls running around with the name Chandler too. :) It is the same reaction the mothers of all the Hunter and Michaels that are girls probably had too. I met a little girl the other day named Braedon. I thought that was strange but then again what difference does it make...a lot of names used to be for the opposite sex.
I wouldn't tell anyone else the name till after you name the baby. It is easier that way. You can give ideas of what you are leaning towards but nothing definite because you'll get a lot of advice you don't want. After you name the baby all you'll hear is, "ohhh! she is so cute!" :)
I like Chandler but if you did want to think of something a little more feminine what about Chandlee? I had a little girl in my class last year named Chandlee and she was such a little angel. I loved her to death. The year before I had an adorable little boy named Chandler too! :)
So, consider Chandlee Raina Campbell. :)

Alright....whatever people are saying, if you really wanted the name, it wouldn't matter. That people are saying that shocks me. I had a really good friend named Chandler who was a girl ( and I know a guy named madison...lol) so I think it's attractive. I have suggestions if you do change your mind:
Jordan Chandler
Taylor Marie
Jessica Jordan
Chandler Jordan
Victoria Chandler (Like Blaine's dad)
Emily Natasha
Lucie Rose
Julia Elaine
Taylor Grace
Oh yeah...this is one case where your mom was right back when you were in your teens: IT DOES NOT MATTER ONE BIT WHAT OTHERS THINK OF YOU....IT'S HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT YOURSELF!

Reactions that aren't so good and rejections from the name Chandler will always happen. After time, you will become annoyed and frustrated. Even if you love this name, why not make it a middle name. To me the name Chandler sounds like a boy's name. You will forever be correcting people and so will your daughter. Read this site below because it lists all the good and bad points about choosing a name.

I love Chandler as a girl's name, but I don't think two of your kids should have the same name. I like Blaine as a girl's name, too.
What about Channeri? It is similiar sounding, yet is different.
Channeri Raina Campbell?
Channeri Blaine Campbell?

Chandler is a fine first name for a girl but I would consider changing the middle name to something a little more common. Then when she is older she can use her middle name if she decides she hates her first name.
We named our daughter Jordan Elizabeth for that very reason.
Good luck and if you love the name stick with it - there is nothing wrong with Chandler as a girl's name.

Personal I do not like the name chandler for a girl. All the Chandlers i Know are boys and it seems weird for a girl to have that name also since James has that middle name I think that it's important that you don't choose the older boy's middle name for the younger girl's first name. But don't let my opinion override yours! Choose whatever you like since it will be your child.

Is she going to be lost in a sea of Chandlers? ( A' la Lauren and Brittney ) She will be ahead of the wave of Chandlers that's defiantly coming, by a grade or Two in school , But she will face them latter in the work-force and for the rest of her life. It's pretty ( It's an occupation name from England meaning ships carpenter) But It's going to be a FAD name. Whether on the scale that Jennifer and Ashley were is anybodies call. If you think SHE, not you, can handle maybe being the Fourth or Fifth Chandler where ever she goes in the U.S. , then go for it

why not name her raina chandler campbell? middle names can be any type of name so that might work. also, candy could work as a nickname for chandler. it's kind of cute, but kind of trampy, though, so you probably don't want that. if you really like chandler, go for it. there are plenty of names out there that can be for a boy or girl.

I think it's cute, especially since James picked it. Yes it is usually a boys name but honestly she won't be picked on. There are so many girls named boys names such as Payton, Ashton, Ryan, Cayden (usually) and the list could go on and on. If you love the name but are afraid people will mistake her for a boy, go with something close to Chandler such as Chandra or Chantel. I looked it up on http://www.babynames.com/Names/Alpha/?let=C and it says that Chandler is for both.
