I just started watching ouran high anime, and i love love love the series and i'm thinking of snatching up the manga too. but i was just wondering, why there are no people of color in it? i mean, they're supposed to be about good-looking, well-educated, rich individuals who cater to the romantic fantasies and scenarios of young women (not sexually, though) of the school, so why not some lovely men of color? i mean, if they can have semi-incestuous twins in the show, then why not some lovely brown-skinned boys for the ladies who like a little coffee in their cream?

someone tell me why?! and how do i contact the creator?

There is an answer to this question and this actually pertains to the majority of anime and manga and the reason being is that manga/anime is created in Japan for Japanese readers with often the setting taking place in Japan. It's not being racist but Japan is primarily inhabited by native Japanese and not foreign residents so often stories created by and for Japanese people focus on Japanese people.

Although it makes scence to have people of color in something like the Host Club which was made to have boys who appeal to all girls tasts'. Again , it takes place in contemporary Japan, which few schools actually have people of color.

If the setting had been not in Japan and maybe in a different setting, in terms of place, or time, the author might have added people of color, but to seem realistic in terms of it setting and to appeal to it's main audience, it sticks with what the environment of the author is like, and that's having Japanese/Japanese like character.

The only way that you could contact the creator is write to the amrican company that publishes the manga saying the lettor is for the creator. Some anime/manga companies acutally do take letters so you could try that

HOpe it helps.
