How would you like it if your weaknesses manifested themselves physically? (For example, if you didn't do well on a test at school, a wart showed up on your face.) You would probably be very aware of your fault, but be pretty embarrassed that everybody else could see it. I think that most overweight people are aware of WHY they are overweight, but that they feel embarrassed talking about it to someone who doesn't have the same problem. It's less embarrassing if others don't think it's your fault, because then your only fat, and not fat and lazy, a food addict, etc.

You get obese when you, over time, eat more calories than you burn. Simple as that, but hard to admit, and for some hard to control.
Some can eat a lot, some can only eat a little. If you eat too much calories, you get fat. Face it! But if it's OK for you, then it's OK for me. The inside matters much more - all though your health is suffering.

75% of all Over weight people Blame something for their condition... Fact is its straight up Denial and Laziness...

The 25% of over weight people that realize they have a problem or its part of their DNA do own up to it... Some do things about it and other just go on with their lives because thats what they want to do...

I was 80 lbs over weight, I had every excuse, till I realized I really had a problem... The Doctor's have been giving me Steriod Allergy shots 2 times a year for 15 years add that on top of little or no excerise and Very bad diet and skipping meals thinking that would help... I've got 50 lbs to go...

If you know someone that is 50 to 800 lbs over weight Talk with them get them to realize its not normal and try to help them... If you start in helping DO NOT Fail them if they slip or just give up if they have a bad weekend or a bad day... Just don't quit once you've started...

A Tuff part is to remember they have to Want Help,,, If they don't want anyone's help all you can do is talk to them and have them open their own eyes to the problem...

This is a Good Question...

What the hell has over-weight people got to do with you, i mean they ain't on this website asking silly questions that refer to you now are they, like, Why are some people so insensitive and thick? People, who like this site, have to sit in front of there computer and read this utter garbage off people like you, honestly grow up and asses your own problems and faults before you start picking on others, but oh yeah, your probably one of the perfect ones.

I agree. For a small group of overweight people it really is not their fault and they have glandular irregularities etc I do genuinely feel for them deeply. However, for the vast majority of overweight people they could do something about it and choose not to. It's not about "labelling" people. It's about assessing who has a GENUINE medical condition and who does not.

Because some of the overweight people have actual health problems that CAUSE them to be overweight. Not all fat people are fat because they eat too much.

Let's clarify this. There are some obese individuals who suffer from other conditions that limit their physical activity. Just as being anorexic or bulemic, it is a sickness. They are still human beings with feelings. They don't need anyone reminding them they're fat. They know it very well.

Not all overweight people say that. There are overweight people that do have medical problems that make them that big. Like problems with the thyroid gland.

It's not their bodies fault, but it's not their brains fault either, because our government let the rich businesses put addicting chemicals in our foods. The bigger the company, the more chemicals you eat.
