My friend said she saw a "very you child" (I couldn't nail her down on the age) with ear spools. I think that is what they are called. They are those discs that people put in their ears to make themselves look like Ubangi's. If you see something like that should you call human services? This kids future could be in jepordy. I am sure he would never get a AAA ratiing if he wanted to be a bond trader at Goldman Sachs. What if he turns out like Alex in family ties and wants to be different than his "Wayne"s World" parents.

Nothing to do. Odds are the kid wanted those things in the first place, and if the parents or legal guardian don't do a thing, nobody else can.

Also, while those things are ugly, and getting them on at such a young age is incredibly stupid, you can't prove danger to life, limb, or irreparable damage to reputation or future.

i was debating for a few minutes.. usually i would leave it alone, but you do have a point there. before calling human services, i would consult more with professionals, or at least anonymously call human services to see if that would be a violation. personally, i think it's wrong. i didnt get my tattoos til i was 21, and by then i changed a lot of what i would put on my body

If the parent did it in the United States then it might be considered child abuse, but if they are from some other country and this is part of their belief then there isn't too much we have to say. You have to be able to prove that there is intent to harm.

There isn't anything you could do legally I don't think but you could pierce the parents face with your fist. To mutilate a child who has no say in the matter should be a crime though.
