Tell everyone that you don't care what people think. Then, when people bring this stuff to you... just tell them that it's not really any of your concern.

The way I see it, you have two options.
I've been in this situation before.
Option no. 1 : Attempt to convince people that they are lies (never works)
Option no. 2 : Spread lies about the person who's spreading lies about you, but 2x worse.

Go to like two or three of the biggest gossipers at your school and tell them the truth. I would say I don't know what her problem is, but I know that you would understand and know the real me. They will pass that around. Hopefully it will undo some damage already done.
You could also confront this person (in front of others) and ask her why she is spreading lies? Others will hear you and wait for her reponse.

How supportive are your parents? Have you spoken with them about this? This is a form of bullying, defamation of character, and slander. She can be sued in small claims court. Also, have your parents contact the principal about a bullying problem. There are Federal laws that are in place for schools to follow although being state funded. Schools don't want to be sued and have to be given an opportunity to show that they are providing a safe learning enviroment for students. Also, you could always go right up to her and say in fron of alot of people, "Why are you telling lies about me..." Make a defense for yourself.

If people are so shallow they actually dislike you on the word of someone else you dont want them as friends anyway, they will never be loyal, theyll always cause drama and they are all self centered. ignore them and the girl. roll your eyes when you here the rumors and shrug them off. eventually people will talk where you can correct them, which you will do politely and with emphasis on where the rumor came from. this will all come back to bite her in the rear. and you will be such the cooler person. wait it out - yours will come around

ignore the drama. that would be your best bet. Girls in high school will make ups lies abd spread rumors becasue they are jelous. from my personal experience, read "queen bees and wannabees" by Rosalind Wiseman. It wil help you understand cliques and stuff and different stages you are going through in highschool. alos please remeber, there is no need to change who you are. "why do you try to fit in, when you were born to stand out"

assuming your young and no one knows anything yet about life i would have to say spread them back or ignore her and just tell big mouth people to tell your side of the story for you, or just ignore her and be the better person but that's no fun!

Just don't recognize any of it, if someone asks you something, say something like "Yeah thats soo true" or some other version of that sarcastic remark. The more you let it bother you the more people are going to think it is true.
